The North Country National Scenic Trail

The North Country National Scenic Trail runs from Vermont to North Dakota and is approximately 4800 miles long, traversing the Upper Peninsula en-route. Most of the 20 mile Munising/AuTrain portion of the NCT is within the Hiawatha National Forest, winding through a variety of forested ecosystems with interspersed lakes. The Hiawatha`s Munising North Country Trail segment runs 20.3 miles from the western Forest Boundary near Eben to M-94. The trail then follows M-94 for 3.3 miles to the Munising Interagency Visitor Center, where it connects with the Picture Rocks North Country Trail segment. The terrain is rolling and wooded.
